BOLTHOLE BY THE SEA

An idyllic Cornish cottage, a stone’s throw from the sea, with panoramic views from almost every room.

Battery Cottage is an enchanting bolthole far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In winter months think of sheepskin rugs on flagstone floors, driftwood frames, star lanterns, a range cooker and an open fire. In Summer, have breakfast on the beach, pack up a picnic for a cliff-top walk, watch the sunset on the terrace or just kick back and relax at this heavenly hideaway.

Perfect for singles, romantic getaways or families for fun-filled seaside holidays. Set your own pace.

At a glance

You’ll fall in love with the views from this cottage perched on the edge of Coverack. Soak up every drop of sun on the south facing terrace or snuggle in front of the open fire – it’s an easy place to be with friends or family. A generous hamper is left for you.

There’s a huge box of toys for kids in the sitting room, a shed with fishing nets and body boards and a play park below the terrace. Walk five minutes to Harbour Lights café for lunch, there’s a shop open all year for basics and a couple of gift shops, otherwise drive to Helston (12 miles) for more choice and supermarkets.

You’re minutes from the coastal path for cliff top walks or take your pick of the beaches: Coverack beach is 5 minutes walk and Mear’s beach is a 15 minute walk further along the coast path.

Nestled on the hillside overlooking the sea this three bedroom cottage sleeps 5 in one master bedroom with super king bed, an adjoining bunk room (with full size bunks) and a downstairs single. Each bedroom has views out to sea. There are two bathrooms; a jack and jill en-suite (which connects the master bedroom to the bunk room) and a further bathroom downstairs.

The downstairs living space is made up of a cosy dining room which also has a small study area, a comfortable living room with panoramic views over Perprean Bay and an open fire. The kitchen is well equipped with an Everhot range cooker, Smeg fridge/freezer, dishwasher and combined washer/dryer.

Outside there is a private terrace with outdoor dining furniture. A gate leads directly to the village park which has a slide, swings and breathtaking sea views. The cottage has parking for up to two cars.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

We stayed at Battery Cottage over the festive period and had a wonderful, restful stay. The cottage is cosy and in a beautiful spot overlooking the cove. Coverack is a lovely village; great pub and shop and on New Year’s Eve the villagers set off fireworks. It’s a great place to be…we’ll be back.

Beautiful cottage, spacious but cosy, with amazing views and on the coast path. We loved waking up and falling asleep to the sound of the sea, morning coffee on the terrace after a swim in the bay (with a seal one day!) bracing coastal walks exploring little bays along the way and fish and chips in the harbour. It was a much needed tonic for mind, body and soul- thank you Victoria for sharing your special cottage, we will be back.

We keep returning to Battery Cottage, its superb position and extremely cosy and comfortable decor draws us back time after time. The cottage’s proximity to the coast path is on your doorstep and along with the beautiful Coverack beach, it makes for the perfect break. We’ve been able to watch seals from the kitchen and Cornish chuffs from the garden's wall, a real home from home cottage.

We loved every minute of our stay at Battery Cottage. I don’t know what we were thinking to only book for a week! Lovely gesture to be provided with a welcome package, including clotted cream. Coverack and the surroundings are such special places – we’d never want to leave if we could and will be back for sure!

Thank you so much Victoria. We have had a fabulous time relaxing in your gorgeous cottage. We’ve enjoyed some lovely walks with Rosie, our Wheaten terrier, usually tied in with some great food & drink too! I don’t think I could ever tire of the view from Battery Cottage, hope to return soon.
